My objective is to create work that people want to know more about, work that makes people think and work that is aimed at the social world surrounding us in this age and time.
About Me As An Artist
My name is Kaitlin Laine and I am 18 years old, I have always enjoyed a lot of art driven subjects, so this is primarily how I got into photography, graphic design, typography ect. I have competed in national art and photography competitions and I have won both times I have entered them for photography. I won the Robert Bateman "Get To Know" contest twice for my photo of a lady bug on a budding flower, and my photo of a yellow duckling smiling in a blue plastic tub. These contests are what really drove me into doing more photography.
Just recently I have started to try to get out and take more photos as I really enjoy it. I have been thinking about photo journalism as an idea for university, as I really enjoy making a statement and make people feel something through my photography. When I got into high school I decided to explore my options and take Graphic Design and Photography and I instantly fell involve with the whole concept of these arts. From a logo being so complex with thought but can still look simple, to how colours control our emotions and the way shapes and lines etc draw our eyes around a photo.
